CLIPARY Terms of Use

1. Purpose and scope

These terms govern use of CLIPARY for Windows between its distributor, 셀지스튜디오 (SelzyStudio), and users. The public contact number is +82-10-9262-4374, and the contact email is selzystudio@gmail.com.

These terms apply to CLIPARY itself. Separate services, including Microsoft Store, external AI services and support platforms, are also subject to their providers' terms and policies.

2. Free use and permission

  1. CLIPARY's own features in this distribution are free. No CLIPARY account registration, paid license purchase, license-key registration or support payment is required.
  2. You may install and use CLIPARY for personal, work or commercial purposes. The number of PCs is not restricted by a paid license.
  3. Permission to use the software for free does not mean that its source code is public or that rights to use its source code are granted. The operator's rights in CLIPARY code and trademarks remain separate.
  4. Without separate permission, you must not resell CLIPARY itself for a fee, present it as endorsed by the operator, or copy, modify or distribute operator-owned code without authorization. This does not restrict acts permitted by applicable law or third-party open-source licenses.

3. Screens, audio and files

  1. CLIPARY processes screens, selected files and related information needed for capture, recording, editing, merging, OCR and note-saving operations initiated by you. Depending on recording settings, system audio and microphone audio may be included.
  2. You must check copyright, privacy, confidentiality obligations and required consent for the material you capture or record. Before sending another person's personal information to external AI, obtain lawful authority and any required consent.
  3. Auto-saved files, project recovery copies, the notes vault, clipboard and diagnostic logs may retain work content or paths. Locations and deletion methods are described in the Privacy Policy.
  4. Keep separate copies of important originals and review merged, OCR and AI-generated results before using them.

4. Optional external AI features

  1. AI summaries and AI text recognition use external services by running the Claude Code, Codex CLI or Gemini CLI selected by you. Default text recognition uses built-in Tesseract OCR on your PC.
  2. Running external AI passes the selected image and analysis instructions to that CLI and its AI provider. Before transmission, the app identifies the provider and information to be sent and asks for confirmation. Cancelling prevents that AI request from running.
  3. External CLIs are separate programs. If you choose to connect one, after installation confirmation the app may proceed with its official installer or npm installation and the provider's sign-in process. Your account, subscription, usage allowance and separate charges follow the provider's terms and are not included in CLIPARY's free use or support payments.
  4. You may avoid external AI or select built-in OCR only. For access, deletion or model-training settings for information already sent, also consult the provider's procedures.

5. Voluntary support

  1. Support is optional and may be given to encourage development and maintenance. Neither support nor its amount provides features, ad removal, licenses, priority support or other digital rewards.
  2. Support is not a software purchase, investment, equity acquisition, commission for a particular feature or advance payment for future updates. It does not guarantee any feature, release date, continuous operation or publication of source code.
  3. Optional one-time support is paid directly to the operator through PayPal on the SelzyStudio Ko-fi page. The support button opens that external page in your default browser; the app does not collect payment details. Monthly support and paid benefits are not offered. Check the recipient, amount, currency and fees at checkout. This Korean PayPal route is not offered for domestic Korean payments.
  4. Support is not represented as a tax-deductible charitable donation, and issuance of a donation tax receipt is not guaranteed. Microsoft does not solicit or sponsor CLIPARY support payments.
  5. Cancellation, refunds and previous paid transactions are covered by Support and Refund Information. These terms do not limit rights provided by law.

6. Third-party software and rights

CLIPARY uses third-party software including Tauri, Tesseract, Hugin and FFmpeg. Consult legal/NOTICE.txt, the included licenses and component notices for copyright, license and source-access conditions.

Third-party software is governed by its own licenses. Closed-source provisions and restrictions on copying, modification, redistribution or other acts in these terms do not reduce rights granted by those licenses. In particular, GPL source-provision obligations must be fulfilled separately from the policy of keeping CLIPARY's own code private.

Rights in user-created output follow applicable law and the rights attached to the original material. These terms alone do not transfer user-created output to the operator.

7. Updates and changes to operation

Microsoft Store manages updates for Store builds; these builds do not check or install app-managed updates. Direct GitHub builds may check their configured public Releases repository at startup and periodically, and install through the app's update button. Network information is described in the Privacy Policy.

The operator may change features or delivery methods for security, compatibility or maintenance reasons. Important changes or plans to end distribution will be announced through an accessible channel such as the official distribution page. Support payments are not an update or maintenance contract for any particular period. Legal rights already accrued by existing users will not be removed retroactively.

8. Restrictions and responsibility

You must not use CLIPARY to infringe others' rights, conduct unlawful monitoring or recording, distribute malware, compromise services or misuse another person's payment method.

The operator does not guarantee error-free operation on every PC, accurate OCR/AI results or continued availability of external services. However, free distribution or support payments do not exempt the operator from responsibility for intentional misconduct or gross negligence, statutory consumer rights or liability that cannot legally be excluded. Liability for damage is determined by applicable law.

9. Changes to terms and disputes

When these terms change, the revision date and important changes will be announced on the official distribution page or another appropriate channel. Changes requiring separate consent will follow that process. You may stop using and uninstall the app, and separately retain or delete files you created.

Disputes should first be addressed through the contact channel. Unresolved disputes may use dispute-resolution procedures or courts with jurisdiction under applicable law. Contracts and refund rights for previous paid licenses and transactions do not expire merely because the app becomes free.

Voluntary KakaoPay support within Korea

Voluntary support is received under the SelzyStudio operator’s personal name. The recipient shown on the transfer screen is 신상미. Scan the photo-free QR in the app or support page with KakaoPay on your phone, check the recipient and amount, and initiate the transfer yourself. App features are unchanged by support. Microsoft does not solicit or organize this support.
